ARTIST BIO

            Artist, Sherri Mewha is the founder, owner and president of Sherrus Gallery of Fine Art (est. 2005) and Awakening…The Artist Inside (est. 2004). 

What began as a fun, lazy-day activity with her grandchildren – drawing animals for one-of-a-kind coloring sheets – has resulted in a unique and whimsical collection of animal characters.  Mewha is primarily a self-taught artist, who began drawing at a very early age; she has honed her skills over the years and has been seriously painting for the past 5 years.  Her previous series of musical instruments, landscapes and fruit have been well received and are in private collections in various parts of the country.  Although the subject matter may change from series to series, the style is unmistakable – a bright, bold use of color; clean lines; and a simple composition that conveys a cheerfulness and sense of humor to the viewer.
